Conference Parables – Memorable stories in General Conference by those who told them.

lds women are incredible quentin l cook, lds come follow me june, youth sunday school, priesthood and priesthood keys

One of my favorite quotes from Elder Cook’s talk “LDS Women Are Incredible!” is this one…

Right after Elder Cook shares the above quote, he then shares the following story…

Taken from April 2011 General Conference Talk “LDS Women Are Incredible!” by Elder Quentin L. Cook. You can find the talk on churchofjesuschrist.org by Clicking HERE

Here’s another video clip of the same story made by the church for the youth.

Teaching Suggestion

“How do women and priesthood holders work together to build the kingdom of God?”

Before showing this video clip of the purse story, have a purse with different items in it (they can be similar to the items mentioned in the story and/or other items as well) Have someone pull out the items one by one and ask them, “If you found this purse and looked inside and found (name the item), what would that tell you about the person?” After all of the items are talked about, lead to the video by saying, “Elder Cook shares a similar story” and then show the video clip.

After showing the video clip you could ask, “Instead of a purse, if someone were to look on your phone, what would people find out about you?”

Bear testimony of the valiant young women and young men that are both needed to build up the kingdom of God today.

For another Conference Parable that goes along with this lesson, watch President Nelson’s “A Plea to My Sisters” by Clicking HERE. It also comes with a teaching suggestion.

Be sure and check out the ebook that was adapted from this talk, LDS Women Are Incredible! This booklet shares a powerful message for women from Elder Quentin L. Cook.
